My first post

I will try and update this blog as often as I can.

My main aim is to one day play at the WSOP (Whose isn't ? ) Barring winning the lottery, I'm going to need to win a lot of satellites, or steadily increase my bankroll. At my current win rate, I could be the oldest player ever to play at the WSOP :-D

I'm currently trying to formulate a plan for playing in the bigger buy in MTT's. I'm considering that when I win cash from a $1 buy in, say $25. Using these winnings to play say in five $5 MTT's. During this time I will use my existing bankroll, to play in further low level tournaments, to maybe give me more shots at the bigger buy ins. I'd also keep a record of how I did in the $5 tournaments, and use any cash finishes in these to play at the same level.

I know tournament variance is high, so I need to investigate how many buy ins I should have, before I play at a MTT level for a long run. I used to keep records on Hendon Mob, of my winnings etc but stopped as I wasn't needing to reload my account. I am registered with loads of sites (isn't everyone ?) and the ones i've deposited on, I've only ever reloaded once. This was with my first ever site I played on (Get Minted poker) after my initial £10 was quickly wiped out in the £1 tournaments. I deposited a further £10 and never had to do this again.

I started using the Cardplayer.com Poker Analyst just before Christmas. I have entered 189 tournaments (mainly MTT) and have finished in the money 54 times. I need to also investigate if this is average etc, and then to maybe see how many of those were final table finishes.

Hopefully this blog will remind me from time to time, what i've promised myself. Mental notes are too easily forgotten. :-)
